It looks like you made a good choice; the leather one was pretty nice, too.
I can't imagine waiting 6 months for a piece of furniture. Of course, what do know about buying furniture? rsc and I bought a new couch once and a couple of futon couches, too. I've bought simple platform beds, shelving, tables, and dressers. I've never bought anything but used chairs. I built my living room couches in the MIT architecture shop while my then-wife was a student there.
Wow... that's certainly good news. After I found the rust/orange chair with the kind of stiff valour fabric I went up to the front where there was a nice young girl working and I asked her about the chair. She said "oh the clay microfiber bellini?" I cracked up. I suggested we go back to the chair to see if we were talking about the same one.
oops! I just got home from shopping, myself..not for a chair dammit, but didn't see your chair post from today. Your choice looks great...and you know...those low arms are better, for the knitting.
You made a good choice. But arent chairs expensive things to buy! I remember when we were in the market for dining room chairs, in other words needing six of them. The prices were shocking, but eventually we did OK because we discovered a restaurant supply store...
