My friends should be here any minute...

I cannot figure out what the does. If it is sending anything to Google+, I sure can't find it. There is a fair amount that I cannot figure out about Google+ but I have already figured out that I'm hooked and will stay hooked. Twitter is pretty much an afterthought at this point.

LiveJournal may well turn back into a journal and away from the minute by minute update. I think I'd like that.

I just remembered to look up Best Buy to see if there were any more stores around here that I didn't know about. Nope. We'll go the closest tomorrow and if they don't have what we want, we'll go back to the one down south of here. My Kiwi friends want to buy a simple netbook and a Kindle.

They really wanted the color nook and I agree it would have been a better choice but Barnes and Noble are apparently very US centric. Even before Amazon offered Kindle books overseas, they had a simple and effective work around. The Nook, apparently, works off IP address and if it smells a non-US, it says NOPE. If Amazon can figure it out...

An iPad factored in for a bit and offered several compelling arguments but lost out in the end to the netbook+Kindle option which I think will work great for both of them. So that's the Best Buy trip tomorrow. And we need to go to Sears and to Grocery Outlet and then whatever else they found out about today.

When Scott was here 15 years ago, I took him to see the Troll. I think he wants to show it to Julie so we may go trolling as well.

I just made dinner reservations at Lark for tomorrow night. It's a classy joint and a great place for 3 and we can eat early without feeling like we're doing the senior early bird special. Plus, I haven't been there in a while and it's different enough that they might not have been to any place like it.

They are on the early morning (pre-8 am) train to Canada Sunday morning.

Great, I got the whole entry done and they aren't here yet. Maybe I'll go pee and put my shoes on and generally get ready to head out when they get here.

Oh, they just called to say they were at the train station and on their way. That was thoughtful of them to give me a heads up. My phone rang and my picture popped up and said I was calling me. kind of made me giggle.

OK, I give up! Please add me to the ever-longer list of people drooling for a Google+ invite. I just can't resist your "hooked" comments.

BTW, tell your Kiwi friends to check out the Asus Eee PC 1018PB. It's pretty slick. They have them at BestBuy.com, maybe in the store, too: http://bit.ly/kln0NT

Thanks,

Bill

If you see the troll please post pictures. I read a novel recently that featured it, and I'd love to see pics and get your commentary.

It was River Marked by Patricia Briggs. It is in a series about werewolves. Or, now that I think of it, it may have been another of her novels... But that's definitely the author and the universe.

I had no idea about the wikipedia page. I'll check that out sometime when it is not 2 am. (yawn) Thanks!
