It was too hot to sleep well last night. I'm sure I slept more than it felt like I did. I should have gotten up and come out to the living room and slept on the new ottoman/fold out bed. Next time I will.

Happily it's way cooler this morning and cloudy. Summer is just a pain in the ass.

In our old house, on hot nights I used to put a sheet on the hardwood floor right next to the screen door and sleep in the front hall. The only place where I felt like I was getting enough air.

What can I say: being able to sleep comfortably on a floor is one of my talents.

Very misty, too. It's not too chilly that the jacket I have isn't sufficient, so this kind of weather I don't mind. It's even not-too-cold enough that getting out of bed really bothered me that much, even with the window open and the blinds partially turned open.

Is the AC only in the living room?

Yep. It has a hose that has to go outside. Only one wall of my loft has outside-ness. A sliding glass door. The bedroom has no outside access (half walls let in light from the living room). I could get central air but then I'd have to donate a chunk of my terrace to the compressor. For two months out of the year, it's just not worth it. So for two months I suffer and bitch about it :)

One of the MANY wonderful things about Seattle is that by Tuesday after Labor Day, the hot is gone. It's like someone flips a switch. Heaven.
