How many people are tired of hearing about my new chair? Show of hands, please. Ok, Hands down, this will be the final chair entry. I just wanted to get a feel for how many would be glad. Thank you.

When the new chair got here yesterday, I immediately realized that the old chair was too big to go anywhere. And I don't need it. So I hopped onto Craig's list and listed it 'free for pickup'. (Regular charities don't take upolstered furniture and won't pick up here anyway and I was too lazy to try and find one who would.)

Within an hour I had three offers. The first was Adam who said he had just moed here and didn't have much of any furniture and gave me a phone number. I called him and he said he could be here with his friend in 30 minutes. SOLD! He and his friend were, indeed here in 30 minutes and were just cute as they could be. (I mean seriously - naked cabana boy cute.) And really nice. They hauled the chair and a bunch of cushions away efficiently and quickly. It was great.

But the really cute part was that this morning I got a thank you note from him! Can you imagine? I was very impressed and glad that he got the chair.

I cannot find the entry, but sometime ago I discussed custard tarts, like Lionel on As Time Goes By loves so much. melodysk was kind enough to post a photo and there was discussion about my local Asian bakery that sells them. They also sell Portuguese tarts and someone - I cannot for the life of me remember who - said that Portuguese tarts were way better and just heaven.

Yesterday I finally remembered to try one and whoever that was was right on the money. They are wonderful.

I lurve dark greay/black cats like that. My friend Jane has a black cat named Skippy. His fur is so dark he can vanish.

Your cat, however, looks totally stunned by that bizzy-bee wallpaper you have in your condo.

Jake kind of stays stunned... he's not the brightest tool in the box but he's a sweetheart.

And the wallpaper is in my Paint Shop Pro - I was playing with different backgrounds. And the playing is telling me paint... not wallpaper...

On my monitor Jake has a green tint. Almost as if he were a gene modified glow-in the dark kitty.

Once, after I ate some wild mushrooms, I saw wallpaper like that. LOVE what you did to alter the photo. Jake looks like he approves of the chair.

Keep a phone number for Adam...sounds like he can help you with other handyman/hauling chores.

His mother should be proud to raise such a polite young man.

No pickups for upolstered furniture, huh? I've been thinking of getting a futon, which means getting rid of both mattresses and a love seat -- all of which are very old (like, 20 years) and damaged. I'm guessing these means they just need to be thrown away somewhere.

It's been a couple of years since I last asked but I found that Salvation Army was the only place that would pick up stuffed furniture and they would not pick up downtown even tho I can feakin' see their parking lot from here! Goodwill will not pick up and won't take stuffed stuff. I can't remember about St. Vincent's. But, yeah, if you can find a place to toss it, do.

Sorry to bug you again, but can you tell me where I can find the instructions to make the pages that show comments have the same formatting as my "most recent" page, instead of the default with the white background? I love how your journal does that and I want to do the same with mine -- I've been looking through all these FAQ pages and not finding anything.

Thanks, it's a cool trick, isn't it? The tailor made comments page is an option of the new S2 styling.

Start with Customize and chose New System (S2). The layout I use is call Component.

Whew, glad that is not your wallpaper. I didn't think so. Cats look like they approve of the chair.

Aren't you glad you found one so quickly? I hate shopping for most anything, and furniture is the worst. Probably cause it is so expensive.

Being the high dollar tourist area we are, and so many people have condos that are rented and must be renovated every so often to stay in the rental pool., We have consignment furniture places where sometimes you can get a pretty good deal. I got a couple of prints I like.
