A lovely surprise...
Jul. 14th, 2011 11:39 amI just learned that someone who has caused me a great deal of grief in many many ways on my current work project has taken another job and is gone. I feel like the doctor's office called and told me the tumor is benign. What a relief. It actually gives me renewed enthusiasm for the job. This current project is going to be over in December or maybe even September but now I stand a much better chance of enjoying the last few months.

I am having an early lunch because 1. I was hungry and 2. Nothing is stopping me. It's the joy of being the boss of me. However, it's not a very interesting or delicious lunch. Payback, I guess.
Except for chips. Yesterday when Ann and Ron were on the way to the grocery store they wanted to know if I wanted anything and I said potato chips. I told them I didn't care what kind - just not flavored. Plain. They brought me old fashioned Lays Classic non-ripple and they are so good!
Sometimes I just love giving the decisions to others. It makes for a lovely surprise.

Amira was supposed to clean today. She came in late and alone and without cleaning supplies. An aunt had died. She said she couldn't call because she didn't have my number. She uses this excuse a lot. Every time I give her my number - written down clearly. I'm sorry she can't keep track of it but I am glad that she came to tell me rather than just blowing me off like she used to do. I think it's time to give her a small raise.

This afternoon/evening there is a 'happening' in the neighborhood park. Last year they started these on Saturdays. They were fun. This year they've moved them to Thursdays starting at 4. They usually have food trucks, some crafts, and stuff. If Ron and Ann want to go over and it's not too hot, that's what I might do for dinner tonight.
Baseball starts up again tonight. I think I need another few days off.

The big news about the byterverse is Spotify. I pay for Pandora and rarely listen. I have music in the Amazon cloud and the Google cloud, on every PC and on my phone and never listen. One thing I really do not need is a new source for music.
Another thing I really do not need but am so delighted to find out is that Daiso reopened their downtown store!!! This is the Japanese store where everything is $1.50. I love going in there and just looking around and seeing if I can guess what stuff is for (many of the labels have no English). They had a big store in the center of town that they closed. (They have a much smaller store near here but it just does not have the inventory.
Today
seattlejo told me that they reopened in the same building but on street level instead of in the basement.
I'm seriously thinking of a Saturday excursion and involves a reviewing of Horrible Bosses and a Daiso trip.
