I finally got the glasses and the jury is still out. I know that bifocals take some getting used to so I'm making no fast judgments. These are not the kind with the line. And I think they may need some adjustment still. I can for sure see the TV and the computer and that's what I was looking for so I think the rest is just getting used to them.

They have those little bumper nose things that drive me crazy. I had almost gotten used to them on the other glasses. At first they felt like they were drilling a hole through my nose. I put these new ones on today and wow. The nose thing was way more comfortable. I said something and the woman said 'oh yeah, those are a different kind and they are nicer aren't they?' No shit. Then she said if I had my other pair she could replace the hard ones on it for $5 - sold! And, fyi, don't ever sell me another pair without these nice spongy ones.

Outside was so muggy. It wasn't sun baked hot, just muggy. I was dripping with sweat. Lovely. Amira was at home cleaning so there was no need to rush back and so I did a couple of errands that had been on my list.

Then home to the air conditioning!!!

I have a little work to do - I got a fair amount done this morning before I left - now I think I'll do the rest and then chill out til exercise class at 2.

A few experiences

It took me months to get used to them. I am a pilot and rely on my peripheral vision to fly VFR. Bifocals killed that so I use single vision specs when I fly. When driving at night and I am tired, I switch back. At the computer, my neck is painful from all the tilting with the bifocals, so I have reading glasses I bought at the hardware store for $5.
Other than that, I love them! I even have a pair of sunglasses that are bifocals (which I cannot use flying). The always cost a bunch, but they are worth it. I should say "progressives" not truly bifocals.
Anyway, good luck.
