We had a cat who liked clothing drawers and once she crawled in BACK of the drawer and into the casing in the bureau. Talk about going nuts to find her!
The ironic thing was, we went outside to look around for Spats, and found ANOTHER cat, just a tiny kitten really, who looked just like her. This kitten was very ill and malnourished so it was just sheer dumb luck that we happened to find him when we were looking for another cat entirely.
We took him in of course and Spats did resurface. At mealtime, naturally.
You are exactly right. She spends a lot of time working on her vanishing act. The funny part is that of my two cats, if she is in the house and not in a drawer, she's the one who will come if I call her.
At least she's taught me to keep all my drawers closed and the front door locked!
That's a wonderful story about finding the kitten.
OMG!

She seems to do the hide n seek thing a lot
