So yesterday when I decided that Betty needed to get her hair professionally done, I Yelped. I found a groomer on Capital Hill with lots of good reviews. I called. I got a not very welcoming voicemail but one that did verify it was the right place. I left a message with what I wanted, my name and phone number.
When, after 4 hours, I had not gotten no call back, I went back to the internets and looked again. This time I found a vet who also did cat spa... West Seattle Animal Hospital. I called them and they answered and assured me that they could totally take care of Betty. And could do it the next day. They won.
She whined the whole trip but we found the joint. I filled out paperwork. They were nice and efficient. A nurse came out to look at her and declared a lion cut would fix her right up and that was all she needed. $50.
While I was at the place, my phone rang. I ignored it. When I got to the car, I listened to the voice mail. It was from the place I called yesterday. A very snippy voice informed me that it would be $75-$100 depending (I had not, by the way, asked about price in my voicemail), and they would be able to squeeze me in on Sunday, September 11, but I needed to call them right away if I wanted the appointment.
Yeah, no thanks, but, I'm glad your business is so successful that new business isn't something you are even interested in.
