First World Scheduling...
Sep. 13th, 2011 09:05 amToday, I want to go to the library to pick up holds, the grocery for a couple of quick items, the pool (from noon-1). And it wouldn't hurt to stop by a cash machine. Oh and I have a conference call at 11 which probably will last 15 minutes but could go 45.
The pool at noon thing is also kind of fucking up my lunch schedule. I'm usually not hungry by 11 but by the time I get out of the pool, I'll be starving. I may have to resort to two lunchettes - one about 11 and one when I get home.
Next week the other pool that is somewhat nearby reopens after maintenance. They have some sort of exercise classes most days at 11:15 which might be a good alternative. Also, the classes I have taken so far have all been the kind that would be very easy to be late for or leave early from.
So assuming I do this every day, I should be able to create some sort of workable rhythm.
Work looks like it's going to be non-existent or very light today which will help. I think I'll just hang here until the 11 call, snack during the call, head to the pool after and then maybe come on home for another snack, work check, and then head on out to the library/grocery/cash. It shouldn't be too hot out there today.
There's a Mariner game here tonight but if there is any traffic, it won't be til after 5. I suspect there might be one or two people who enjoy seeing the Yankees beat up the Mariners, but even that gets old after a while. (
rsc and
jwg and the rest of you Red Sox fans, sorry. I know you weren't counting on our doing anything for your cause so you can't be that disappointed, now can you?)

I have two published knitting patterns available for free on the web. Both have minor issues/errors. Some nice lady in the UK knit up the fish and clearly outlined the two places it needs fixing and what exactly needs fixing (on Ravelry) so now my excuse for fixing them both has just dried up. That may be this morning's project.
The problem is that there is a web version, a doc/pdf version so I need to make sure both are right and look ok. But, mainly I need to quit putting it off.

I got a notice from my medical insurance company that they have now reconsidered my head surgery last May and decided to contribute more towards the cost. Nearly $300 more. They will pay that extra to the clinic. It's going to be fun trying to get the $300 out of the clinic's business office. ugh.
I called the insurance and a nice lady could not explain why they reconsidered - 'we just do that sometimes'... I guess I'm grateful they didn't decide I need to contribute more.
I have nearly zero health insurance needs/wants and thankyoujesus. My tiny little exposure to the system gives total credibility to all the health care/insurance horror stories I hear. unfreakinbelievable.
And that's apart from the clinic's sloppy billing/accounts receivable practices. I love the doctor/lab/other staff part of the outfit but the business office is in the stone age.
Then this weekend, I got an IM from someone who has worked for my boss actually longer than I have. She wanted me to join her in complaints to him about our medical insurance. She can be a bit of a whiner and she's really kind of whacko but her husband was disabled in a car wreck about 10 years ago and she has trials.
She's steamed about having to pay so much out of pocket for things that I do not need/want - mammograms (follow-ups), mental health care, expensive drugs. She asked me for my thoughts about our coverage and I told her that I had no beef with our coverage but that my needs were very simple.
She then abandoned the recruitment effort. I really do not have any complaints that I expect my boss to fix. My contribution to the insurance is minimal and I very much appreciate having it and do not want to rock that boat one bit.

Ok, that seems to be an appropriate amount of procrastination... time to get to it.
