Timing - swimsuit sales
Sep. 15th, 2011 08:53 amMy original suit is one I bought about 20 years and about 100 pounds ago. It's stretchy (duh) but I think I'm asking too much of it. I scored a new one for very cheap last week - but it is a really cheap one and has issues.
So, now that I'm committed to the water tribe, I decided it was time to properly suit up.
I went in search of one piece swim suits for fat ladies that are on sale and are not black. Contrary to the rest of the fat ladies searching I am not looking for flattering or 'tummy control' or skirts that hide my thighs... I want colorful, light weight, fast drying and cheap.
I think I found a couple that fit the bill at Lands End and if they don't fit the bill, Lands End has a lovely guarantee policy so I can return them for refund. They didn't have a huge selection but I think I got a couple of good ones. One rose and one turquoise.
Still cheaper than gym shoes.
---
I'm not exactly sure what is on the agenda today other than swim at noon... Possibly a trip to Costco.
---
I am on my last tube of the Canadian toothpaste I got when
machupicchu and I were in Vancouver last May. So now we are talking about returning. Nah, not because I'm out of toothpaste but because we want to explore and play in snow. This time we're shooting for Edmonton. I'd love to go in December but Mr. Full Calendar Of Important Events, is saying he's too busy so it will probably be end of Januaryish - a couple of weeks after CES.
Except with my job thing up in the air, I'm not comfortable making any commitments just now. Hopefully, in a couple of months, I'll know more about my future and we'll be able to nail down the dets.
And I can get some more toothpaste. (It's Colgate Prevident for sensitive teeth that they only sell here with prescription... those free wheeling canucks get it OTC.) I'm pretty sure it's a placebo for me but I've got no placebo prejudices and it's fun to have an excuse to go to Canada!
---
I think I'll get the handheld vac and go do the car floor while I'm thinking about it.

“it's fun to have an excuse to go to Canada”
Amen! Too bad you aren't closer to this end of Canada! (Although, would I ever have the gumption to meet up with you IRL anyway? Doubtful! I'm horribly shy...)

Actually, you might be surprised how chuffed I'd be to see that... ;)

Date: 2011-09-16 02:55 pm (UTC)I'd head towards Calgary: a nice city, more vibrant and you're 30 minutes from the foothills of the Rockies (and 90 minutes from Banff, where you can do your watercize in a pool fed by hot springs.
I interviewed for a job in Edmonton once. Everyone person's response to "how do you like living in Edmonton" was "Edmonton's not so bad."

And don't forget the higher number of average snowy days! Although honestly I'd be good with either city. I really want to see both. But I'm sure even Edmondton is plenty good enough for a weekend trip. Who needs lasting novelty when you're only there for three days?
