Friday - bits and bobs
Sep. 16th, 2011 08:22 amIt does appear as if today is going to be yet another day with no work. Not my preference but I can deal with it.
One big problem with no work is that it gives me lots of time to spend money buying crap online. In my job, no work equals no pay which does not bode well for that spending money part.
So today's big goal is going to be to not spend money. I just paid the Discover bill and the goal is to rack up no more charges on it. At least not today... one day at a time.

I watched the first two new shows of the new season and neither rung my chimes. I am a fan of 30 minute situation comedies. I watched Free Agent and Up All Night. I did not kill the season pass of either but they are both on the One More Time To Make Sure Then Delete list.
I have been catching up on The Protector which I'm actually enjoying. I saw the pilot when it first aired and just stockpiled the rest but now I'm watching them and realize that my first semi-meh reaction was hasty. I like the cast a lot and the characters.
---
Today's swim will be over in Ballard and it is another shallow end class and it is an hour earlier at 11. Starting next week, I think I can get - fairly easily - to a deep water class every day between the pool in the Central District and the one in Queen Anne.
I have lived in Seattle 19.5 years and have taken many city services for granted but these city pools are really just amazing. They are very pleasant place to be. They don't smell funny. The temperature of the place and the pool is perfect. The classes are great and the schedule isn't bad either - there are lots of after work options that I don't even pay attention to in addition to the day time classes, I love.
I could do my job from anywhere in the world - literally. I feel in love with Seattle the first week I moved here and that love just grows stronger every day. It's a fabulous place to live.
---
I may put the air conditioner to rest in its storage closet this weekend. It might be too soon but I am tired of looking at it. I can pull out the tower fan to get my by should we have flash of hot weather again. On the other hand, I just looked at my list from past years and this would be one of the earliest I have ever packed it up. Last year I did it on October 6. Hmmmm No need to decide today.

Date: 2011-09-16 03:48 pm (UTC)The deep end classes are confined to the area where it is too deep to touch bottom.

(Why yes, I am delightfully naive, thank you!)

Date: 2011-09-16 04:14 pm (UTC)You jog by moving your legs as if there was ground but there isn't. You stay upright (if you are doing it right) and move your arms at the same time. It's very doable.
