Fall? I hope....
Sep. 25th, 2011 09:14 amIt is considerably cooler today outside. Not inside yet but such is life in a 100 year old building built to retain heat. There are square wooden beams holding this place together that are 18" across from back in the day when they knew how to make trees. Those sucker hold heat. My thermometer says is 78 in here now - no a/c on, no heat on... my computer says it's 58 degrees outside.
And the forecast promises more cool. Maybe I can get the air conditioner into storage before October!
This morning I'm meeting [Unknown site tag] for brunch downtown and then we are going to see Moneyball. I was going to leave early and walk the long way but my toe has decided it's time for some gout. I took a magic pill and I'm sure it will clear up quickly but it's probably better not to piss it off. I'll take the shorter walk over to the bus tunnel and catch a ride.
Today is the home opener for the Seattle Seahawks. The RV's and campers arrived last night. At 3:30 this morning a huge boom/crash woke me up, then I remembered football people had moved in. No telling what they were up to. I checked the police logs this morning and nothing so I'm sure my guess was right. Football people do not make good temporary neighbors. They are loud, rude, not bright (they stand in front of the garage door and don't move an inch until the car bumper touches their knees) and when they leave, the place is trashed.
It is interesting to contrast the soccer crowds. The numbers are about the same except the soccer people arrive mostly on foot, or via bus or train. They know to get out of the middle of the street when a car approaches and the trash they leave is in bins or tidy piles.
The baseball stadium is down about two blocks and unless the Mariners are having one of their rare (rare does not even do it justice since there have been only about 2) winning years, their fans have little impact on my end of the street.
I like living here - in the midst of all the action. Good and bad, it's sure better than boring!
I think I'll pop in a load of wash before I head out.

Coincidence??!!
