pooling

So I was double checking all the city pools to see if there wasn't one good one open sometime tomorrow that would fit into my not busy schedule... and, alas, the only ones are too crowded not fun pools. So no swimming tomorrow.

But, then I got to thinking and did a search for all indoor pools in Seattle and hit some interesting things. 1. Hotels. I hadn't thought about this. Maybe there's a hotel that will let me in on a Sunday.

And the Y. There is a Y that's not terribly inconvenient that has a nice pool schedule with with Sunday openings and aqua classes in the mornings... The Y has a large $125 joining fee and a monthly fee that is $50. BUT the one closest to me is advertising free joining through the end of October... hmmmm they do have a free pass. I might well go talk to them this week and scope the deal out. I could join the Y and still do Mantrell's classes for only $3.45 each. hmmmm

Stay tuned.

Good luck - I've had mixed-bag luck with the Y, all good but not all good for everyone. Of the two near me (part of the same Y sub-org, so our membership is good for both), the one in Beaverton has a great pool for adults, but it's all swim lanes; kids are not gonna enjoy it. The one in Sherwood has a great kids/shallows area and so on, but there's only 3-4 lanes and no room for anyone not swimming laps or playing with the kiddies.

Where I want to be with Drew and where I want to be without him are two very different things. Fingers crossed that the pool at the Y you are checking out is good for what you need, although if they have aqua classes it sounds promising!

I'm thinking the hotel could be a good way to go, especially if you find one that does great breakfasts. :-)

That's actually an interesting thought. Many hotels have pool or gym memberships available to locals, since they have to keep up the facilities anyway. I wonder if you could strike a deal with one of them that has a good breakfast or brunch for a "bundle" plan. :-)
