Du Jour So Far
Oct. 18th, 2011 11:26 amToday's the day I have class from 12-12:45 and then a conf call at 1. They don't send out the agenda until after noon and it's a confusing meeting of a bunch of people I've never met and have only heard their voices once so I was lost last week even with the agenda. I figure trying to listen in without it is silly but I sure don't want to haul my work laptop to the pool and then have to hope my cellphone's hot spot connects quickly (which never happens).
My CR-48 Chrome notebook has Verizon 3-G (still free, yeah!) so I'm going to take that with me and use Outlook Web Access to get to the agenda, I hope. In the car. After I get dressed quickly after class. I'm hope it works as planned. We shall see.
---
I just saw a headline that said Costco and Amazon are the most trusted brands. I didn't click on the article but I sure agree with the headlines. And I'd add Zappos.
---
Chef Anita is cooking up a storm. We've gotten into a good menu rhythm. I've now had enough different dishes from her that I love so that the menus now are mostly stuff I've had before and loved plus a new thing or two to try. She has such good food imagination.
Today's menu:
-Apricot-glazed chicken thighs with roasted brussel sprouts
-spicy miso peanut chicken and noodles
-pork oso buco with toasted pine nut gremolata over garlic mashed potatoes
-twice backed potatoes with all the toppings (i pull a steak out of the freezer to go with these)
-liver and onions over mushroom polenta
For next time she proposes (and I totally approved)
-balsamic vinegar chicken with wild mushroom and red potatoes
- flank steak, spinach and bacon roll-ups with potatoes au gratin
-pork in a clay pot with rice and roasted sugar snap peas
- beef stroganoff with roasted green bean and almonds
-seafood casserole
Yummy to the max.
---
Work is slow but at least, so far, so stupid mistakes. Whew.
---
3/4ths cup of dry food for kitty breakfast this morning - they left some. Neither of them has thrown up since we started this. Fingers are crossed.
