My cough has changed character over the past two days so I figure I'm either dying or healing. I'm going to go with door #2. It's not better but it's different so I'm hopeful.

I have slept through the night now with no coughing fits for two nights but upon waking, I can't breathe without coughing a lot for a while then it calms down and is not horrible. I'm not sure the inhaler is doing anything and the cough syrup is just gross. I took my last antibiotic this morning. (These are notes so if/when I have go to back to cute doctor I can remember.)

Last weekend I bought new dry cat food. Originally, they went from cheapest at the grocery to an interim one for transitioning to the good stuff. This morning they got the good stuff. Fail! These normally 'we will eat anything' cats both gave it a whirl and voted 8 paws down. Amazing. I got it last weekend from the expensive pet food store where I was hoping for decent service and got one very uninterested guy. I cannot find the receipt for this stuff, of course, but I don't want to go back there anyway. Lesson learned. I'm glad I did not get the other one he pointed to as it was twice as expensive as this stuff (same brand - First Mate).

Fortunately I had some of the transition stuff left so I put the new stuff back in the bag and they chomped away happily.

Then I reconsidered the whole project. The goal was to get them to quit throwing up. Goal accomplished. Why am I fucking with success? I don't need to spend a fortune on shit they won't eat. Next up I'm going to try some grocery store premium like Iams or something.

The wet food I got fixed. Amazon sells a nice Tiki variety that is totally disgusting and they like a lot and it does not require a second mortgage.

And there is no throwing up so victory.

I have a conference call today from 11-noon. Happily the pool lap time is open until 2:30 so I'll still be able to get my swim in. I was just looking at the pool schedule and see that all the city pools will be closed next Friday for Veterans day. And for two days over Thanksgiving. Bummer! But on the up side, I see that there are some pool hours on Sunday afternoons. It's later in the day that I like but what the heck, better than nothing!

There is so much of this coughing business going on up here! Everyone's getting it, and afterward they say they don't feel sick anymore but the coughing keeps lingering on for weeks afterward!

I feel like I'm in one of those movies where they're about to reveal that, no, everyone doesn't have a cold or the flu, it's some mysterious new virus that we've never seen before and have no idea how to stop....

no no you are spot on there. the only stickler is the transition food is not available from the grocery store. but, there is another nice pet food store on Lake City Way that I pass every Saturday coming back from the pool so maybe I just stop there and get the stuff. good thinking.
