He was pleased with my progress but allowed as how I should keep up the inhaler. I didn't do so good on the breathing puff test. You breathe hard and fast into this gizmo that has scores from about 10-800. They make me do it three times. Last time I could barely do it at all without coughing for 10 minutes. At least now I can do it but again my scores suck. The doctor's assistant said they had a guy in their last week who hit 800. I could barely get it over 100.

But it did not seem to really worry anybody.

I did get a laugh out of the doctor when I told him that I now see his point on the flu shot so gimme, please. And toss in a pneumonia vaccine, too, if he didn't mind. He didn't mind at all - shot me right up.

All is good. No need to go back. Yahoo!!! And work did not fall apart while I was gone.

I so want one of those breathing testing things for Alex. I am going to request one when he has his next appointment, but I don't know if they will give me one. I have already established that I am crazy, and I think they know that giving me a way to test Alex will only increase potential phone calls to their office. I, of course, will deny this and try to determine if I can steal theirs.

Amazon! Why didn't I think of that? Geez. I am disappointed in myself.

What I really want is the oxygen level reading thing that they attach to the child's finger. They use those on Alex instead of the peak meter reading thing. I assume because he is younger. They keep refusing to give me one of those as well as write me a prescription for one. They also refuse to leave it in the room when I am there. *wink* But I would happily buy the one you linked on Amazon. Just to have one here would make me feel a bit better.

Thank you for sharing that!!

Similar. Very similar. When Alex was in the hospital the last time, the respiratory tech guy was telling me that the ones that they use are made especially for children. Because of the size of their fingers, they have to be a certain one in order to not give an inaccurate reading. Alex is so darn small anyway that I wish the doctor would give me a prescription for one that was perfect for him.

Amazon is so awesome, though!
