Another day, another lung report

susandennisI'm happy to say that I have gotten pretty darned skillful at cough suppression. I can stop nearly every coughing fit now and haven't had a good one really since Monday! What I can't do, it seems, is get a good breath. I do better upright. Last night I got up to pee and when I got back into bed and lay down, I was gasping pretty severely. Finally I stood up for a bit and got my breath and then went horizontal again and was able to breath fairly well all things considered.
This morning I don't have a lot of spare air but I'm making do so far.
Last night I made out a calendar to track my progress since this started. And it reminded me of one thing that is probably the result of watching too many episodes of House.
Down in the basement of this building I have a storage area. It is a dank, stale place. I keep very little down there any more because a couple of times over the years when I've gone down there, it's caused coughing fits... yep. They were over within an hour but unpleasant enough to avoid the joint.
On the day this whole things started, I was down there for maybe 20 minutes putting stuff in and taking stuff out. I was pleased because it didn't make me cough. That night I started wheezing and the rest is history.
I'm now wondering if I didn't get some nasty spore or something that then I just exacerbated by coughing and coughing and coughing.
I do know I am not going back there without a mask on, that's for sure.
I think I'm going to skip swimming today. The pools are closed tomorrow and Friday. Three days of rest is going to be plenty.
Tomorrow, I have nothing planned. I'm toying with the idea of brunch at a place I know will be serving it and is always a welcome spot for a single on a holiday. And then I may go to that new George Clooney movie. A day with a nice big bloody mary, good benedict and George Clooney? That does not sound bad at all!
