Can't get started
Aug. 28th, 2003 07:48 amHere at work, I mean. I have a list of things to do but seems like "doing" LJ is a tad bit more important or more interesting anyway. So I'm going to pop this entry up and then get to work. Really. I am.

My spam mail has taken an interesting turn. I capture all email from senders not on my whitelist at SpamCop.Net. There I get a nice webpage that shows me the 'reply to' email address and the subject line. This always makes for an amusing read. The subjects really do have a nice rhythm of their own. Lately the most popular subjects have been "Blog" and anything having to do with buying medicine online. Today I got two offering to help me eliminate bad ordors - someone trying to tell me something? Of course, I can still get hard for my woman but less often, these days...

Last weekend I spent way too much time trying to reduce the line height in my LJ style. I was a total failure. Today the author issued a revision and now line height is adjustable. I just live ahead of the curve.

The Mariners really pissed me off last night. Tampa Bay played like the last place team they are. The Mariners acted as if their only reason to be on the field was to make Tampa Bay feel better about itself. They did. GRRRRR They were playing at home and I was so tempted to suit up and go down and show them how to do it. They are now OUT of first place and they deserve to be. The need a big time out.

We didn't have time outs when I was little or seat belts. It's a wonder I'm here at all.

Here in the U.S. we have a national holiday on Monday. My friends in New Zealand are always amazed at how few of these suckers we get. (Actually, a fair number of my friends in the U.S. are similarly amazed.) And, since I'm shooting for my regular Friday off, I'm staring down the nostril of a 4 day weekend. Heady responsibility.

Ok Ok Ok. I'm going to work now. Geesh.

Date: 2003-08-28 03:48 pm (UTC)Some of those puzzles you posted look good - I used to do a lot of 'traditional' ones, but had a bit of a sickener with one attempted last Christmas by the artist Escher :)

Date: 2003-08-28 07:23 pm (UTC)However, I have to report that I've finshed bear #1. Almost, anyway. I just have to do the embroidery bit, which isn't easy when you've used thin wool and thick needles and your bear looks a bit like a string bag.
He's a big boy - and Monty doesn't quite know what to think of him, yet. They've been introduced - he sat next to me while I was sewing it up and watched the whole process of a bear emerging from a flat piece of knitting as if he knew what was happening. Honestly, that cat!
For the next one I have the right sized needles, and should go and make a start right now. The housework is with us always. New bears to knit are much more attractive. Pics to follow when I've made him a smile.
