I've pledged to start each of these four days with a minimum 30 minute power walk. This morning I gabbed my 'Walking to Marches' tape and headed out. If I leave via the front door, I have a gazillion route choices. If I leave via the back door I have at least that many more. BUT, if I delete all of those that put me in direct sunlight, the number of my choices starts getting leetle bitty.

This morning I hit another snag. I headed out, following the shade, towards the water - Elliott Bay and the container freight loading docks/Coast Guard place. Good plan because it's nearly all in the shade. Bad plan because at some point you have to cross the street and trucks really don't give a shit if you ever get across. There is a walk/don't walk light but I think I must have missed the nano second last year when the 'walk' part was illuminated.

So I killed a good 10 minutes between two different traffic lights. Tomorrow, a new route.

I come back here all hot and sweaty and so wanting at least a drizzle but I'd settle for cloud cover and what do I read straight off???? [livejournal.com profile] melodysk bragging about her rain! Look at the map, people! I live in Seattle!! Check the buzz on Seattle - cold and rainy... Who's fucking with me here?!

Oh and for those who noticed it right off and were kind enough not to point it out yesterday, I do realize that one of the egos that was running amock in yesterday's encounter with the fuckchop was mine. I have got to get a grip. These people pay me good money to do their bidding. Why I am so quick to get into a whiney twit is a mystery to me.

Now I'm off to run errands. I have to find something that will stick a $5 to paper in a way that will enable it to be pulled off in tack and something that will do the same for pennys. I'm thinking maybe hot glue - I've always wanted a glue gun and maybe this is it! And on the company's dime!

Catch ya later...

Don't get me started ..we Brits are famous (infamous??) for our weather chat ...we moan about it all the time. It is always either too hot , too wet , too cold , too dry , too damp ...yada yada. If we were suddenly weatherless we would have no option but to start being interested in Politics ...Heaven forfend!

It turns when you're driving and trying to catch the ferry...

Peace

Um, I don't think a $5 bill will come off paper if stuck on with hot glue, but I could be wrong. It would be interesting to find out though!

LOL A hot glue gun is the only kind of gun we have here, and we keep it hidden as if it were a real gun. They are dangerous, and I have silly kids.

The double sided tape is what I was thinking too, but I didn't think of the dot things for the coins. Great idea!

We have a trade off going on here. I'll knit, if you walk.

I'm still gasping at the good my resumption of walking has done me. I may not have slimmed down to Kylie-like proportions, but I am carrying less weight which feels really good. What I've found is that I can now do a longish walk which once reduced me to a sweaty heap without any trouble at all. No sweat! It took a while - but then, so does this knitting thing.

Walking

I *love* walking, although I've largely substituted biking for it until winter. Your trying to find suitable routes reminded me of how much fun I had plotting out walking and biking routes that I enjoy. (Occasionally I like just to wander, but somehow I feel that I have more of a purpose or something if I'm following a predefined route. Maybe that's just another symptom of wanting to always be in control!)
