Great Customer Service
Apr. 3rd, 2002 05:26 pmWhen I run into good customer service I'm always so delighted. Today I downloaded a trial version of eMailBoss - a program to work with Outlook in organizing mail. It's for my work email and offers a lot of cool sounding features. I couldn't find any independant reviews so I thought before I spent the $39.95, I'd give it a try.
The trial had this popup window asking me if I wanted to purchase it or if I wanted to be reminded later. Fair enough. I clicked 'remind me later'. But the damn thing popped up every 2 seconds. I couldn't even look at the product or the help screens or anything because this stupid window kept getting in the way. I finally gave up and uninstalled it.
Then I went back to the website and sent a note to their 'technical support' email address explaining why I wasn't going to try their product or buy it even though it sounded really good. It was a nice, but firm note.
Within 5 minutes I got a note saying that within an hour I would be sent a fix. It didn't even take an hour! The fix didn't work. Well, that's not true, I didn't install it correctly. I swapped more email with this 'technical support' and think I now have a handle on how to do it. I'll give it a go tomorrow morning - I tend to do these things better first thing in the morning.
But, I can tell you now that this outfit will likely get my $39.95.
