Saturday - nice and warm
Apr. 6th, 2002 11:05 amIt is sunny and warm out - enough for me to have the terrace door open - first time for that in a long time.
This morning's excitement was a trip to Sears. I live in a section of town that is historic - gift shops and book shops and restaurants and offices and a few condos and apartments. No grocery store (well, there's a nice Japanese one not too far), no drug store, no dry cleaners. There is a small Sears store about a mile down the road and I end up doing a lot of business there because it's handy, has easy parking and I'm too lazy to go farther.
Today I made a Sears run. I bought a humidifier for the bedroom there several months ago and tossed the instructions about the filter. I noticed the other day that the filter was disgusting so I thought maybe I was supposed to be changing it every month or something. I went to the humidifier section and learned that 1) the filters are $13 and 2) you only need to change them once a season. I did buy a spare but I think I'll pop the current one into the dishwasher and see if that reduces the disgustingness.
I also found a nice pair of shoes - Keds - I haven't had Keds since I was a kid but these are nice mule Keds and they were having a second-pair-half-price so I bought one pair in each color - white and tan. I put the tan ones on and put my shoes in the bag with the white ones. Dumb idea. I had declined the boxes so the shoes where in the bag together rattling around and of course the white ones picked up the dirt off my old ones. Stupid. I did get them washed up but I can't believe how dumb that was.
