susandennisI just got an email (two actually) from an old friend. She and her husband of 25 years are getting a divorce. We all went to college together and I introduced them. She had told me about a month ago that they had decided to divorce and she was ok. So, Sunday, I sent her a 'hope you are still ok and things are going well note.' Her first note starts out saying she is ok, really ok and then she digs in and goes off about what a monster he is and always has been. She ends the note saying 'more later'. Then, 5 minutes later, I get another diatribe about what a terrible person he is. I have no clue what to say back so I'm writing here instead.
She's so pissed, she's spitting bullets and I suspect she's been like this for weeks. Ouch. The issues she's taking him apart on are all over respect and money. And, I'm pretty sure that if I heard from him he'd say the same about her. Wow. After 25 years.
I was married once so I sure know better than to judge what goes on between two good people (in my case, only my husband was good, but you get the drift). But, wow, I can't imagine what it's like to be so very pissed and feel like you've been that pissed for 25 years.
