Afternoons off
Jun. 14th, 2002 12:51 pmSo, I worked a deal with my manager that from now until she leaves to have the baby (mid-September), when there isn't a crisis going, I'm taking Friday afternoons off. I figured I have enough Paid Time Off hours stacked up and no plans to use many of them, and I just love taking Friday afternoons off so much that what the heck. She agreed and today is my first one and it's wonderful!
Plus, on the way out, I was chatting with the woman who keeps track of the PTO hours and she told me that they don't count anything under a full day so it's like free time. This luck can't last...
Betty is a closet cat. I have sliding doors on one of my closets and she has figured out how to slide it open and go in and stay in. She comes out to sleep on the bed at night and to eat and to play but her down time is in the closet.
Last night I missed a great picture. She and Jake were in the middle of the living room floor each playing with a toy. As it happens they each had the same toy (a dumb looking furry thing) in different colors. I looked up to see that they had both worn themselves out. They were lying within a foot of each other with their respective toys in their paws. I cracked up and woke them up and they were gone before I could get the camera. They do make me laugh.
