Wonderful Sunday
Jun. 16th, 2002 09:54 amI love my housecleaner. She's been taking care of my house for about 5 years now. Twice a month, I come home to a wonderful smelling and wonderful looking house. She is an Indian from Fiji and so sweet and so honorable. We nearly came to blows several months ago when I decided she needed $5 more. She disagreed and would leave the extra $5 on the table. I finally convinced her to take it but it wasn't easy.
She has a lot of clients in my condo building. And she's been talking for a couple of years about having us over for dinner. Finally she nailed me for dinner last night with some of her other clients. I had no interest but couldn't bare to hurt her feelings so I went. It was pretty dreadful. She was wonderful and her husband was nice and her kids (girl 17 and boy 12) were cute and sharp. The other clients were insufferable and I hate Indian food. Prior to last night I had already had my lifetime supply of curry. Now I've had someone else's supply. And it was a leisurely evening... I though I'd never escape. I love the thought but I sure hope she doesn't have it again.
The fact it is over and that I have a free day stretched out ahead of me to do with as I please, makes this a wonderful Sunday.
