Jun. 27th, 2002 11:14 amFor the first time in days and days, the clouds are here and things are cooling off a little. I hope they stick around for a few days so we can get back to non-hot weather.
The guy (Scott) who lives just below me is a realtor. He just sold the unit next to him and sent an email out yesterday to a few of us in the building asking if we wanted some cabinets that were on the terrace of the unit he sold. I got there first.
I went down and saw them last night and they are fabulous. Nice looking 6 feet tall, full of shelves and they will fit right into a little nook. More storage! Whew! We have storage units down the garage of our condo building but anything you put down there smells like 100 year old basement after a week. This is fine for the warped tennis racket that never seems to make it to Goodwill, but not for the sofa cushions that I only use in the winter. Now they will have a home that doesn't smell but isn't in the way!!
My house cleaner was supposed to come on Tuesday but didn't. She left a voice mail message but her English isn't that good and my answering machine isn't that good and all I really got was that she wasn't coming. I knew she'd be there eventually but the place really is getting to be pitty. Anyway, I just got another message from her that she'll be there at noon today!
Scott and another guy from downstairs are coming at 7 to haul my new closets up. They are young and fit and I am old and lazy so I was very grateful when Scott volunteered. I have lots of cold beer to pay them with.
