Today was a day. I spent most of it gluing money onto a direct mail piece. Glamor job. My manager helped out a bit between meetings. It was long enough for her to get a real appreciation of the shit end of the stick. That really was pretty nice. And the damn thing is in the mail.

My Treo died on me. I think what happened was that it kept trying to connect to the network and ran itself out of juice. Strange because it's never done that before and there was nothing special about today. PocketPC's have a pretty straightforward backup/recovery deal. PalmOS is, apparently, not so into the whole process. Best I can figure, you simply tell it to overright everything on the device with whatever you have on the desktop. Then you have to reinstall all the programs.

It's not a huge deal. If I lose all my addresses/phone numbers I'm not going to be so happy. And if I lose all my memos, it won't be wonderful. But, I can live with whatever. Oh, it just finished the synch. We shall know after a reset...

Well, I must appologize to Palm! Everything is exactly back in place! Wild and easy. Somedays you just get lucky. Time for the Mariner game...

Barn doors, cows out... etc. Of course, when I figured out the depth of the shit, I went to the web to see what to do and only then did I see about BackupBuddy... Thanks for the recommend. I'm now off to check it out.
