My earlier post brought some fascinating and really thoughtful comments. While I can't really identify with the passion for music,
joyofmacs mentioned my books. Now, there's a real passion. I don't read anything important. I read mainly mysteries and only a subset of those. But I am passionate about that. I read every single day. If I don't have my next book lined up, I get very anxious. Actually, the truth is, if my stack of To-Be-Reads isn't huge, I get anxious. I am constantly on the lookout for new books and for new authors. I've sold a lot of books on Half.com but I've bought as many. I cannot imagine life without these novels. I don't want to anyway.
I'm reading one right now that is out of my usual genre. It's by Stephan Fatsis (you NPR types will recognize the name) and it's all about Scrabble. I am not a Scrabble player but this book is really fascinating.
