ice cream and miscellaneous

susandennisI hate going to the grocery store and try to go as infrequently as possible. I went last Friday so my next trip would ordinarily be about a month from now but I totally forgot how hot it is and how, when it's hot, ice cream is a requirement. I bought ice cream last Friday but not nearly enough. So today I made a quick trip. Four pints of Ben and Jerry's Heath Bar Crunch. I'm desperately hoping that I'll get sick of it and be able to return to my normal routine.
The grand opening of the new stadium (just outside my terrace) is this weekend. The ribbon cutting was today and the open house for the masses is this weekend. They are filling the parking lot with all kinds of fun stuff - basketball nets and other things. Should be quite the show tomorrow and Sunday.
My roommate from college is getting a divorce. She's been married to another good friend of mine for 25 years. She now hates him with such a passion that it's unbelievable. That much venom cannot be healthy. About three months ago I sent her a 'how are you' note and got two very long emails right back about what a monster he is. I sent her a simple note back. This week I tried again. This time I got one long email saying how she was getting on with her life and then two paragraphs about how horrible he is and how she is going to talk to a PI tomorrow to get proof of how horrible he is. I think I'm done sending her 'so how are you' notes. Fortunately, she's 3,000 miles away.
It started out cool today but has now heated up. However, I am now sufficiently ice cream armed.
