No lose change
Aug. 25th, 2002 07:34 pmGenerally I have too much change and work hard to get rid of it. I'm forever holding up lines because I'm trying to dig out exact change. Of course, now it's come back to bite me in the ass.
We're (at work) announcing our funding tomorrow. Both of our local papers agreed to do a story on it tomorrow morning. I only subscribe to one of them and need to pick up multiple copies of both. If I had quarters I could plunk them into the paper boxes that are on my way to work. As it is, I am going to have to go all the way across a whole other street into a coffee shop and buy the papers. This is going to nearly double my commute. Which, of course, will bring it up to a whole block instead of the usual half block.
But, still, if I hadn't used up all my change...
I'm getting a little ditzy. About 5 p.m. I couldn't stand it any longer. I took one cigarette out to the terrace to smoke it. One drag and I nearly choked to death. I put it out and actually haven't even wanted one since. Interesting. And encouraging.
