This day is just full of little goodies.

The baseball strike being averted is one of the biggies on my hit parade. Whew.

Then I got the end nums on my refinancing and it looks like the deal is going to be a good one. As my Mom pointed out between the money I'll save on the mortgage and the money I'll save from not buying cigarettes, I'm going to have to have some serious cash flow to worry about frittering away.

And it's already beginning the Labor Day cool down. One great thing about the Northwest - at least Seattle, come Labor Day you can count on the hot weather going away for sure. In the Southeast where I grew up, you could count on the hot weather being gone mostly by Thankgiving if you were lucky.

I'm planning on putting the air contioner into it's Winter home on Monday. Yeah!!!

And... switching topics here... There are a lot of pissed off people with computers. I've been monitoring the Sprint usenet group since I got my new phone and those people are really angry. The new network has had some glitches. I ran into some and some folks have had more trouble than I have but I figure the cost of early adoption is well worth being the first on your block to get the new toy. Not everyone agrees and most who don't obviously have some other anscillary entitlement issues....

Then there is the forum for my poor web hosting company. This outfit is a shoestring operation. They offer a whale of a package for very little money. I use them to house a lot of the images on my website (and I have about 200 MB's of images so housing is not incidental). Anyway, the poor guys went down yesterday - spam attach and they got cut off by their provider as best I can tell. They kept their user form up until about 2 hours ago and the posts to it were just hateful. When it went down, the whiners moved to WebHosting Talk where they continued their diatribe. Apparently, they have every single one of their revenue eggs in this one basket and making a backup or plans in case of failure just never occurred to any of them.

Yeah, it's a pain in the neck but I'm sure these folks did not do this on purpose and will get things back up as soon as they can and if they ran off with my $6.00 then I'll find another provider and I hope they have fun.

It's my Friday afternoon off and I'm not going to mess with it!
