Friday in the nick of time
Sep. 13th, 2002 07:12 pmI really needed this weekend. My attitude was beginning to show and I don't mean my sweet, sunny, kind attitude (actually, I don't own one of those anyway). I was about ready to take down some people by the time I left. I have a buddy at work and he was on vacation this week. I was surprised at how much I missed his being around. It makes such a huge difference to have someone who understands. I can just walk by my desk and mutter Twinkie Attack and he knows that either Jacklen or Elaine or Mary Anne is driving me nuts. He just smiles sympathetically and it makes all the difference in the world. He wasn't there this week and the twinkies were.
But, I got out of there at noon so that helped. And I did get a fair amount of stuff accomplished before noon. Then the apraiser came and I got that taken care of. I think he was supposed to collect $400 from me but he didn't. I'm sure I'll be paying it but it was fun not to pay it today.
Then I went to the paper store to pick up stuff I need for work. It was nice to have plenty of time to look around and see what they had and just take my time. Stopped at my favorite Asian retaurant on the way home and picked up some kung pao beef. I hadn't had any in a long time and had forgotten how wonderful it is. Plus, I have enough for a meal tomorrow.
GW the War Monger is really beginning to make me nervous. Viet Nam just wasn't long enough ago for me to forget yet.
