A software Saturday
Jun. 22nd, 2002 09:35 amIt's hot here. And the sun has been out and hot so far all morning. We could use a cloud or two. Once good thing about Seattle is that if you get a cloud, you get instant cooling.
It's been a software day. I set my webcams up with new and far superior software. The stuff I was using was really finicky. This new program is much better.
Then I spent some time tweaking my LJ friends style. I wanted to get it so that when there was a post by someone to a community, you get the link to the someone AND the link to the community. Took about a gazillion tries but I finally got it.
Betty and Jake (the cats) are nearly talking this morning. They spent about a minute playing paw fight on the carpet. They quit, of course, when I got out the camera. Now they are just lying around trying to figure out what to do next. It's too hot to do much.
Now I need to apply a Microsoft update and reboot. I never reboot. I do a lot of fiddling and live in fear of the time I will reboot and get nothing or something will be screwed up and I'll not know how to fix it. In the olden days - before Windows XP, I rebooted all the time. With XP, if it weren't for software updates, I'll bet I'd never have to reboot.
Ok... here goes.
