susandennisLast August when mortgage rates started to go down I looked into refinancing. I have a 30 year fixed 7.25% loan now and no real interest in paying it off quickly. A friend at work recommended a mortgage broker who is the son of a friend of hers. I figured what the heck.
In the beginning he was only a little flakey. He's now turned into Flake of The Century. Here I sit 4 months later with only the promise of a refinance. He tells me he's got me a loan locked into 5.75%. I've paid $425 for an appraisal (which I do not have - he has).
For four months now, he never ever ever calls me when he says he will. He says he'll let me know. He never does. He got an assistant and a month ago she apologized for the lack of contact and said she would call me on Wednesday. I never heard from her again. I finally called him on Monday. He said closing on Thursday or Friday and he'd let me know Wednesday.
Of course, I heard nothing today. He obviously doesn't give a shit. I think I've been screwed out of a refinance and $425 for the appraisal. If I wasn't so disgusted with myself and him, I'd take him to small claims court for the aggrivation but it would aggrivate me more than him probably.
