A nice Sunday
Dec. 15th, 2002 09:14 pmI cannot believe that I haven't made an entry all day. It seems like I've come over to the computer to do it about a half dozen times but always got distracted by what other people wrote.
It's been a nice quiet day here. Watched a PPV movie that I recorded last week - "High Crime" with Ashley Judd and Morgan Freeman. Much better than I expected - well worth the $4. There are several PPV's going right now that are of interest which is good since regular TV is just reruns and reindeer specials.
I had a major knitting tragedy this afternoon. Halfway through my latest afghan, my expensive good knitting needles broke. Pissed me off. Details in the knitting blog.
One last full week without my manager at work. It gets more perilous every day. I was thinking about it this weekend and I think Mr. Important thinks he is my manager while Jodi is gone. He's wrong, of course, but that would explain some of his rather odd behavor. He started in October and on about his second day he introduced himself to me and asked who my manager was while Jodi was gone and I said 'me'.
Not one single word has been said to me that would make that any different but this guy is way strange so no telling what info he's dealing with. Jodi reports to the CEO and so does Mr. Important. My vast years of corporate experience tells me that this would not make him a link in my chain. Of course, he is way more important than I am so his chain may be different.
One full week and then two holiday weeks. Can I make it without creating some career limiting situation? Is kneecapping a special appointee of the CEO considered career limiting? I think so but I need to google that and make sure.
