Movie Review - Crush
Jan. 4th, 2003 11:54 amI just finished watching Crush. I'd never heard of it and only picked it out because it was one of the few that WalMart had available. What a marvelous way to while away a rainy Saturday morning!! On The
kjaz Scale it's an $8 out of $8 movie.
It's a chick flick only in my not being able to imagine a guy getting in with the plot but I also think nearly anyone under 40 would be bored to tears. So maybe it's a hen flick?
Here's what Netflix has to say:
In this lighthearted story, three close friends (Andie MacDowell, Imelda Staunton and Anna Chancellor) in a small English village meet every week to drink gin and swap stories about their love lives -- or lack thereof -- as illustrated through an amusing set of flashbacks. Things turn sour with the trio, however, when Kate (MacDowell) becomes involved with a younger man ... and falls in love.
I do have to say that I wish British speakers would slow down and enunciate more clearly or we could get a version of their movies and TV with American subtitles. Now, how colloquial is that??!!
I watched A Couch in New York (my other WalMart movie) the other day - it sucked. I finally quit after about 45 minutes.
