You have to be carefully taught
Jan. 26th, 2003 08:47 amAnd I wasn't. And every year on this day I am reminded.
I went to an all girls' high school. No football. None. I went to a small private college that was big on soccer plus the 'sport' we participated in while I was there was marching for peace - not football. My husband was big on football - very big. And I loved football season. It meant every single weekend, I had long stretches of time to myself (can anyone point to one of the reasons why this marriage was pretty well doomed??).
I have a sport where you can see the faces and the players aren't giant rocks - they look like real people.
I just don't understand football and I don't think I ever will. I've had enough pre-game coverage. I'm ready to get this over with. This time tomorrow I will have a year before I have to face my failings again. I can live wiht that.
