I'm appraised
Jun. 10th, 2003 05:04 pmAnd I don't suck. My manager gave me a very good and thorough review - she totally redeemed herself. She documented all of the wonderful things I had done and gave me credit for stuff I'd forgotten about. She also pointed out, very artfully and kindly, where I could use improvement with some really good instructions for how to do it. (i.e. Communications skills. Apparently, my telling the Twinkies to go suck up a rope, isn't going over all that well. )
No raise - no one is getting any more salary until we turn a profit. Probably another year. More options at a nice strike price but, I've got options from my last company and stock from yet another one I worked for all of which are hardly worth the room they take up in the file drawer.
I proposed the Friday off instead. She said she'd ask and back me up but I'm not holding my breath. She did give me a comfortable forum for airing out some things that have been bothering me about the place and she appeared to listen for which I was grateful. All in all, it was good. And it is done.
5 point scale. I'd given myself a 3.5. She gave me a 4.
