The This and That of a really nice day.

Today is wonderfully cool. We've had some rain which we really need and my geraniums really really needed and I could swear I even heard thunder but that was probably just wishful thinking. In addition to the Cupboard Caper, I've also done a bunch of other things today...

I took my friends Lee and Sherry to the pier where they got on their cruise ship to Alaska. They are going on one of those huge big ships. I'll be interesting to hear what they think. I am in charge of the mail and their cats and those sweethearts left me brownies! And ice cream!!

As we were leaving Lee said 'there are brownies on the counter for you'. I tried to sound excited but I've lived here long enough to know not to count on brownies being brownies. Where I come from, brownies are moist and chewy and have a kind of crusty top. Around here brownies are more than likely chocolate cake that is dense with icing on it. The dead giveaway is icing. Brownies do not have icing. I'm pretty sure that's in the Constitution or the Bill or Rights or something.
Lee's brownies are real, true, beautiful brownies. I am a lucky girl.

I posted my IPAQ on eBay today. When I did my cellphone a couple of weeks ago, I went several days before I got the first bid. Two days before the end of the auction, the highest bid was $20. The thing sold for $182. Today I already have a bid and I've already gotten what I consider the obligatory 'I want your item, can we settle on a price and you end your aution early' note. No thank you.

The Mariners (not to mention any names but Jeff Nelson in particular) really really pissed me off last night. Mariners 3, San Diego 0 through most of the game. Until the bottom of the 9th. Old Jeffy (who is pitching for us) loads up the bases and walks in a run for San Diego. But, that wasn't enough for the boy... oh no, he wasn't going to be happy until he hand them a grand slam home run. I am not happy. But, I've given myself today to get over it. I'm thinking I might still have some issues but the first pitch is still about 3 hours away. I can probably work through them by then.

I have the TV on mute and I see Tivo has decided that I need to see Joan Lunden's Behind Closed Doors. Ordinarily this would be a 'no thank you' but I see she's doing Starbucks. Maybe I'd better watch that one. Their corporate offices are less than a mile from here and they might want to hire me sometime. After all,it is all about me...
