40 years of depravation
Sep. 28th, 2003 09:09 amThis morning's walk was by the Mariners stadium - the last time I'll be doing that walk on a game day until next April. On game day there are two guys who sit just behind the player entrance door. One wears a Mariners shirt and other one wears whatever. I'll miss them and hope they have a lovely winter.
They finally have the official Krispy Kreme sign on the construction site! It's been 40 years since I've had a Krispy Kreme shop in my neighborhood. I'm ready for a dozen glazed and a really cold milk, please. (Eat 2 hot ones there with the cold milk and take the remaining 10 to go.)

Date: 2003-09-28 07:18 pm (UTC)Mr. KK sold it years ago to a small group who later sold it to some big conglomerate (I forget which one). Then in the early 90's the group bought it back and started spreading it around. Then in about 2000 they took it public.
But to answer your real question... the donuts are every bit as wonderful as they used to be. There are a couple of shops in the area surrounding Seattle and when I visit Mom there is one very near her where we have to often drive through to get hot donuts. YUM...
I probably should have started this out with "To make a short story long..."
