The simple pleasures

It is hot again here in the northwest and I am sick of hearing me complain about it. Today is supposed to break records. This morning I was sitting in my chair getting really uncomfortable and pissed off. No way am I dragging that fucking air conditioner out again. And then I remembered... I used to have a floor fan... It used to be in the storage closet in the garage. I haven't seen it in forever - I try not to go into that storage closet because it reminds me of how much stuff I have that I don't need.

But, I went. It was there. I put it there when I bought the air conditioner several years ago. I brought it upstairs and it is heaven. It is not going back down there. It's just too nice. A gentle oscelating breeze. For once, having too much stuff pays off.

Wanna do a house swap for a few weeks? It's starting to cool down here in Toronto ... much to my dismay -- but I think you would be pleased! And I promise I won't run up your hydro bill with the A/C!

What a great idea! But let's wait until your snow comes. I'm getting ready to trade my whining about the heat to my annual case of nearly terminal snow envy! House swap sounds perfect then. Plus, Toronto is one of my all time favorite cities.

Yeah, what was with the weather up there lately?

The whole time we were in Seattle and Portland it was bright and sunny and warm enough that I roasted the days I had to wear long sleeves.

Here I was expecting a nice chill in the air. ;-)

It's been pretty cool in the bay area. But we could have one more 100 degree blast any time now.
