Cooler, maybe?

xara_ noted in her journal yesterday that those of us in Seattle get a little dramatic about the heat since I said it was 400 degrees but
joyce said it was 80 trillion degrees. For the record, Joyce was a tad more accurate than I was. But today we have beautiful clouds which, so far, have kept us not sizzling - so far.
One nice trick about Seattle weather is that when the clouds come in, and/or when you get in the shade, the heat drops instantly. And, at night, it's rarely ever warm enough to go without sleeves or a jacket. But, see, that's what we signed up for. We did not sign up for blazing hot summer sun.
Of course, we also signed up for rain but the people on the east coast are pretty much hogging all of that and won't give it back.
But today is far too busy to think about going outside. I have knitting to do. A ballgame at 1 and another really good book going. This one is a police mystery set very realistically in Seattle. It's about some murders in the neighborhood of Ballard (about 2 miles from here). I could barely put it down last night. This morning, I was half awake listening to the news and wondering why they weren't reporting on the serial killer in Ballard...
Ramble, Ramble, Ramble...
