Whoohooo!!

One of the more glamorous parts of my job is doing direct mailings. Postal mailings. These started out as letters to 100 people. Then it was letters plus a piece of marketing collateral (one page brochure) to 200 people. Then they started calling them 'campaigns'. Then they started talking 6 a year. Then they said that we could do way more than 6.

Then they said the next one would be to 150. Had to be out by Friday of this week. They would get me the list on Tuesday (as in yesterday). Yesterday they said that it would be closer to about 450 and some would have two brochures and some would have three and ... we'll you get the idea. Still had to be in the mail by Friday so the inside sales people could start calling on Wednesday. Oh and they would give me the list today.

Just now the manager of the inside sales people came over and said - rather casually - to the campaign guy, "you do realize that we won't be able to start making these calls for at least a couple of weeks..." Campaign guy contained himself really well. He was popping blood vessels inside but you really couldn't tell it unless you looked at his eyeballs.

The shit is going to hit the fan... Big time. BUT, the only thing that really matters is... I'm Off The Hook!

Oh and I still don't have the fucking list....
