Friends - drop if you want... really

drood's latest entry offers friendly friend dropping. And it's prompted me to restate my own policty... Ohhhh I have a policy!

I add friends to my list because I want to read their journals. I make heavy use of filters so I can appropriately keep up with everyone. If I find that a journal no longer interests me for any reason, I remove that person from my friends list. Or sometimes I just prune for the heck of it.

And I hope that the people who have me as a friend feel the same. If you added me and now think maybe... nah.. not so much... then please please just remove me from your list. Don't torment yourself. I've been dropped before and I totally understand and can handle it. Really.

No need to explain or anything - just one click and I'm gone. You can come back and visit any time but don't let me mess up your friends page if you really don't want me there. That's just silly.

i can handle being dropped [although if a close personal friend did it, i'd have to wonder]... but being banned pisses me off, if for no other reason than it's a gross over-reaction

A few times now I have offered de-friend amnesty. After I post I think to myself, surely they (they being folks who never EVER comment so I figure they must think I suck) will drop me now. And they don't. Most probably because they filter me out and don't see my offer.

I must admit that I am so fond of your journal I would be sad if you dropped me. But I would never post any entry or send anyone an email to harrass if they did.

One person has dropped me so far. And she was so bitter I was GLAD.

You're very generous to have such a policy year-round. Mine's only for one day. The rest of the year I'm a crab-ass whenever anyone dares drop me.

That little imp of satan would be one of my cats. You should see the little huffing sigh of disdain that accompanies that particular expression. It's like having an adolescent daughter.

I hate it when I get dropped, I take it so personally. But deep down inside I know it's nothing to worry about.

Anyway. Everyone is one my freinds list for different reasons. but mostly because they give me a different view on life. Like you.

Still I'd much rather someone just dump me rather then think Oh no it's another post from him again.
