A new day...
Jul. 31st, 2003 12:04 pmUpdate from yesterday. Mom is now convinced that her phone wire and her phone jack are in working order. TiVo, however, is still not happy. I think it's likely a simple thing but I also think she's at the end of her ability to troubleshoot. So I've called for Polly. Hopefully she can use her contacts in Charleston to find someone. I suggested that she start with home entertainment places and Best Buy and Circuit City and ask them for a suggestion of someone. I really can't do much else but cross my fingers.

One of the twinkies is up at the front loudly talking about her recent trip to one of our customers in Georgia. "There isn't a soul in that town that weighs less than 200 pounds!" And that's one of the kinder proclaimations that she's loudly sharing with everyone in this block. Why do bigots only have one volume?

The Mariners play at 1:30 today and the Blue Angels are practising in the area so they are closing one of the interstate bridge highways. If you want to experience time standing still, drive on over here today between now and about 3 p.m.

I have decided that tomorrow I shall go chair shopping. This is pretty much
There's a cool section of downtown Seattle about a half mile from here that is about 6 blocks of cool furniture stores. Not the big chains but the boutique types. That's where I'm headed on Friday. I have taken measurements. I know what I want and if I can't find it, I won't buy. I need to write that last sentence on my hand before I go.

Time for lunch here. Oh and it has cooled off considerably! Whew.
