Bits and Pieces
Aug. 8th, 2003 10:13 amThe Metallica concert was ... well, maybe it was better from inside the stadium. From my vantage point it sounded like a vacuum cleaner sucking up the fringe on a rug only louder. And the fireworks were really lame.

I spent the morning doing Mom's drugs. I am every more convinced that while my avoidance of all things medical may not be smart, it works for me. If there is something wrong with me, a doctor will want to either slice me open (no thanks) or change my behavior (no thanks) or give me pills. NFW. I'll take my chances on my own. If I drop dead tomorrow remember that it was my choice to do it this way and I enjoyed every last minute.

Mom takes 10 different drugs. My now very tidy spreadsheet shows that at Walgreen’s she'll be spending $1,600 for a 3 months supply. If she orders from Canada, the same stuff will cost her $980. Of course, ordering from Canada is not easy. The process appears to be pretty much like crawling over cut glass. I've given Mom all the particulars. Up to her.

My nifty idea of backing up LJ hit the wall. I posted it with some questions on

I'm trying to decide what to do next with my day. I might need to pop into the office and I could stand to file the papers in these stacks around my desk and I do have 3 Netflix rentals plus a TiVo full of stuff and a good book that I'm nearing the end/climax of... So many choices. I am so lucky.
