Waiting to hear

Mom's friend, Libba, called about 7 a.m. to ask if I had heard anything. She said she tried to call but Mom is in intensive care and so has no phone.

Libba is really difficult to deal with. She has a completely different set of logic than normal (me) people have. But, she's a good friend to Mom so I must be patient.

Mom is not big on calling with non-info updates. When Daddy had the big heart attack, she waited a full day before calling any of us. The hospital people kept trying to get her to call but she said 'I don't know the answers to the questions they will ask so why call until I know something?' And since she made the nurse call me and then the doctor last night, I figure she's letting me know what she thinks I need to know which is ok with me.

My brother and his wife are ready to drop all and head to Charleston from Jacksonville, FL tomorrow if needed or wanted - actually I think they will go unless Mom says no. I should let my sister know but she's not going to be of any help and she will, guaranteed, be a pain in the ass - she's actually pretty much of a blood clot in the vein of our family anyway... So I'll let Mom tell her later.

It's early afternoon Mom Time. I'm thinking that if I haven't heard by 3ish, I'll call her doctor's office and see what what they know.
