Pirates the Day After

These guys apparently seem to have survived their 'oh yeah, just mock me - internationally!' day. This was snapped about 7 a.m. this morning outside the baseball stadium. It's a thumbnail - you get full pirate glory with a click.
So, in answer to your question, yeah - there was some excitement on my walk this morning. Running parrallel to the street my house is on is an elevated double decker highway that runs the length of downtown. It adds a din of noise to the 'hood. Well, this morning... no din. They have the thing closed for repairs. It was strange.
Then I noticed that there were cops at every corner and no cars on the surface streets. hmmmm Then I saw the first sign. Heart Walk. This is not a small deal, apparently. There were hordes of people in volunteer t-shirts getting organized. Balloon hearts, balloons strung together in heart shapes, balloons everywhere. The genesis is the baseball stadium. All around the stadium the roads were closed, porta potties were set up, sponsored booths were setting up - get your blood pressure checked, here's some info, have a banana?
Sure was funny to see my usually quite and solitary walk so populated. Quite entertaining.
