I did buy the phone. I am shocked that I spent that much money. But, I have been accumulating a little kitty for that purpose. Plus, I remembered last night that I made more selling my old phone and PDA than the Treo300 cost me. Plus, it looks like there's a chance I might still be able to get some money for the Treo300 on Half or Ebay. So, now I'm just excited about getting the new phone.

The Sprint lady yesterday told me to call back this morning, if I wanted, to get a tracking number... "If I wanted???" Duh. so I called back. I got this really fun lady today who told me that she wouldn't have a tracking number until tomorrow morning but probably I'd get the phone first. It will be at my door tomorrow!!! Then she said 'do you have time to help me with something?' and I'm thinking... survey... But, I was on a new toy high so I said sure.

Then she said that she was just interested in how I and everyone else for the past two days knew to call and order this phone. She said (and she's right) the Sprint website doesn't list the phone, the Sprint Business website lists it as 'not yet available. Handspring's website says it's 'coming soon'.

"And yet, we've had tons of orders! How do you guys all know to call??" I told her about the web communities where word got out late last week that Monday was the day. I told her that I was a slacker waiting to order until Tuesday. She was really funny and a bit amazed.

I'm excited about my new phone. And... it's camera! Camera Blog... I'm still working on the look and feel...

does a magnifying glass come with the phone? I have a dickens dickens?of a time trying to find the letters or even numbers for our new phones... nice and 'tiny' but difficult to use... just this morning at 5AM, Ilene missed a teaching assignment because she hit the wrong key when the automated call came in... I told her to justify missing it because it was probably for boy's gym at the high school and the school district doesn't have a clue that Ilene is a woman's name.

When we got our phone service back after a year off and before that, two years of not being able to get a signal... (now we get a signal at home but not at most of the places I used to get a signal from in the mountains... no analog now...) I looked at the camera models-just being curious-and was taken back by how much it costs to send photos. That's with V. and C. and I didn't look into S. because they get no signal here.

my phone has internet and I've been able to see my website there... on that tiny screen... but I haven't figured out yet how to get my email or send email... the reason I paid for it... and the salesman told me it's normally $10/mo and he'd give it to me for $4.95... Then, I found in their literature that the regular price is $4.95... It's been two months now and I still don't know what my plan entails and how all of it works... I went to their store and stood in line twice to ask for something that tells how it all works... like: what hours exactly is evening and night calling... type of questions... they salesman answered my questions... I replied... give me your home phone number so tonight when I have forgotten, I can call you with questions... I still don't have anything on paper that defines what my service is... they just keep giveing me sales brochures that tell generalities... I hate that we need to have these phones.

Peace
