Catching up a little
Oct. 12th, 2003 07:23 amMy friend and I are having a nice visit and a fun time but I am having some serious J withdrawal! I've lost my rhythm. I'll get it back next week, I'm sue but it's disconcerting now.
She's still asleep so I have a minute. It is cold and rainy and windy. My kind of weather. I'm sorry to be missing my walk this morning. It would be a different one, I'm sure.
For those of you tracking the Guy Who Owes Me Money story, I sent him an invoice on Thursday demanding payment of the $3,000 plus the 10% interest accumulated. The totally bill is for $4,425. I allowed, on the invoice, that if I received a check by November 5, 2004, then I would not seek out legal recourse. I sent it registered mail. I was pretty sure he would refuse to sign when he saw the return address but, in fact, the guy who works for him signed and I have the receipt back. Now we wait until November 5 or we see the check. Stay tuned.
I keep forgetting the phone camera. I did remember as we came out of Archie McFee's yesterday and got the shot below of the side of the building. When we got home there was a note from Mom saying that she was relived to see our ducks in a row.

The helicopter from yesterday turned out to be 'show and tell' for the Bacon Bowl - the annual football game between the cops of Tacoma and the cops of Seattle. Just before dark last night, the helicopter lifted off with the guy on the Segue standing by. I'm not sure I really understand the involvement of either one but the Seque guy remains the more curiouser to me.
Today is shopping and wandering around. My friend leaves in the morning and it's back to work for me while I wonder what happened to my weekend... hmmmm

Date: 2003-10-13 10:56 am (UTC)But I was soon brought down to earth when they replied to my e-mail this evening as to whether they delivered to the UK ...
"Yes we do but we require a minimum purchase of $50.00 and shipping is 50% of the merchandise amount".
Still, that'll probably save me quite a lot of money :)
