So yesterday afternoon I had some time so I totally fucked up my computer at work. See, it's like this... This baby will be turned into a little mini server of some kind. Everyone here uses laptops and I had zero use for a laptop so one day when they needed one, the IT guy came by and asked if there was any chance I'd be willing to use a desktop for a bit and give my laptop to the guy who needed it. Since I truly didn't care, I said.... 'well, if you get me a 22" monitor, I'll use your desktop forever.' So he did. And I have.

But, knowing it will be wiped out and reformatted, yesterday I got frisky. I've wanted to check out some flash desktop windows and a couple of screensavers but no way am I doing that on a computer I actually would have to use for something or, even worse, on my own computer. Yesterday, I tried 'em all. I learned that all my fears are solidly grounded. IE is totally hosed. I can access a website but after about 5 minutes IE gets a fatal error. It's sad. I finally had to run an Spybot to be able to even get anything done today.

I do have an RFP that needs to be fixed today but it's not a bad one and it shouldn't take me past this morning. And, I think, that will be it. I will be done. Tomorrow will be an hour or so of move the rest of the important stuff to the file share, archive the email for my manager in case she needs it and wipe out the rest of the computer stuff. Then it's pick up the checks and asta la taco.
